It has a potent smoky aroma which slowly evolves into the scent of burning incense with olibanum, amber and resinous notes. Very tenacious, it will create a lingering incense note. We can’t overemphasise the smokiness of this material, which can be used in compositions where strong smoke notes without the earthiness of vetiver or the meatiness of guaiacwood are required. It’s also more complex and multilayered than cade or birch tar oils. We absolutely love it!
